Course outline

 

This five day course has been developed to help participants gain a better understanding and application of the (Code of Practice for Occupational Health and Safety in the Public Sector 2007) and the obligations contained within the WA OS&H Act and Regulations.

 

The five day course covers the following areas in relation to the pubic sector.

• OH&S Legislation
• Hazard Identification
• Risk assessment
• Hazard control
• Specific hazards
• Consultation & communication
• Workers compensation and rehabilitation

The course will consist of a mixture of classroom work, computer use and practical exercises.

 

On completion of the five day course participants’ will be given the option of undertaking an assessment which will cover 6 units of the Certificate III in Occupational Health & Safety.
